I’m Tomm, founder of Bil-Tomm’s Biltong Ltd. – proudly South African, proudly passionate about biltong. Growing up in Cape Town, rugby and biltong were part of everyday life – and that love for flavour has never left me.
Back in 2001, I moved to the UK to work and travel, carving out a career as a gourmet event chef across Europe. But no matter where I went, I couldn’t find biltong that tasted like home. So, I went back to my roots and started making my own – rediscovering the craft of curing and drying meat, and experimenting with bold, unique flavours.
What began as a lockdown hobby quickly grew. Friends and family loved it, word spread, and with their encouragement, I took my biltong to market. It hasn’t been an easy journey – I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs – but with the right support and plenty of determination, I’m still here, stronger than ever.
Today, Bil-Tomm’s Biltong is based in Stratford-upon-Avon. You’ll find me trading at hand-picked artisan markets across the Cotswolds, and now, right here online. Every batch is made with passion, patience, and premium cuts of meat – delivering that authentic South African flavour at a price that’s fair and honest.
